Tracking what you've watched
Marking films watched, recording watch dates, rating them, and keeping private notes.
Tracking is the core of the site, and all of it is free once you have an account. Mark a film watched anywhere and it counts everywhere — every race that film was nominated in updates at once.

Keep your own notes against a film. Nobody else can read them.
Notes are private. Nobody else can read them, and they never appear on your public profile. They are off by default — switch Film Notes on in Site Preferences if you want them.
Marking a film watched
You can do it from three places, and they all write to the same record:
- The Films tab of any race page, which is fastest when you are working through one race.
- The full film list, which spans every race and year at once.
- The film's own page, which is where you go for the detail.
Alongside the watched tick you can set a watch date and where you saw it — home, cinema or a festival. Both are optional, but the extra tools later on get more interesting when they are filled in.
Simple Watch Mode
If the extra fields slow you down, turn on Simple Watch Mode in Site Preferences. Ticking a film then just ticks it, with no prompt.
Ratings
Rate anything you have watched with the star control. Your rating is yours — it shows on your own views and feeds the community average on the film page, but individual scores are not attributed to you publicly unless you publish them on your profile.
If you would rather not see scores before you watch something, Site Preferences lets you hide ratings on unwatched films, or hide them everywhere.
The film list
The full film list puts every film from every race and year in one place. Filter it by race and by year, then sort by:
- Title
- Duration — useful when you have a short evening and a long list
- Number of nominations, or number of wins
- Your rating, or the overall community rating
- Notes, if you have notes switched on

If you always want the list filtered the same way, set persistent default filters in Site Preferences and it will open that way every time.
Film pages
Each film has its own page showing every race and category it was nominated in, the community rating spread, your own record, and where the film is currently streaming.
By default clicking a film opens it in a popup so you do not lose your place in the list. Prefer full pages? Change Film Detail View in Site Preferences.
Your library
Separately from what you have watched, you can mark films as being in your library — owned, downloaded, or otherwise to hand. It is a second, independent flag, so you can filter for films you could watch tonight without leaving the house.
Library functionality is a toggle in Site Preferences. Leave it off and the controls stay out of your way.
